Parents/caregivers and their children participate in lots of fun open ended activities like  crafts, Sensory play activities, play dough, sand and water play, painting, Messy Play, active play, Let's Get Moving, puzzles, toys and games, and outdoor play. A closing circle with stories, memory/matching game, songs and Let's Get Moving fun. 

An Early Years Professional is on site to provide support, links, and resources at this important time of your lives. OEYC is a great place to spend quality time with your kids and other parents/caregivers.
BVCS is a nut free and latex free zone
A healthy snack is provided between 10 and 10:15 am - Choices following Canada's Food Guide may include -
hard cheese portions, whole grain crackers or whole grain cereal, nut free trail mix, fruit/veggies, seasonal fruit, yogurt, raisins and refreshing water.

There is playground equipment located at BVCS but we ask that parents sign out of OEYC programs before playing with the playground equipment.

BVO Preschool

BVO Preschool in Thornbury is a non-profit Daycare run under the umbrella of Beaver Valley Outreach. We offer licensed childcare spaces for children 18 months - 5 years old. Our program is facilitated by Registered Early Childhood Educators and governed by The Day Nurseries Act. We offer a play-based learning which complements Ontario's Full Day Every Day Learning. At BVO Preschool, your child's needs are met in a safe, nurturing, environment with lots of age appropriate activities. A morning Nursery School experience is offered, however currently there is no space available.

Kid's Club

Registration and sign up for Kids Club must be completed through this online registration system. 

Step One: apply to the link below for One List

Step Two:  register for BVO Kid's Club after you have applied on One LIst and email a completed Emergency Card from the list of documents

*WAIT LIST: At this time it is Kid's Club Policy we do not have a Wait List.

You must register on OneList in order for us to adhere to Child Care Early Years Licensing Act (CCEYA) Child/staff ratios and please note, once your child is enrolled you will be billed. An exception to this rule will be made when children who use the bus service to get to school are absent due to bus cancellations or The kids Club Program is cancelled due to weather. All absences must be reported by phone to Kids Club at 519-599-2033 by 2:30 on the day of the absence, so we know not to expect your child.

The Kids Club Program is offered by Beaver Valley Outreach and is separate from Beaver Valley Community School. We offer a variety of children's activities including: outside & inside play, helping to prepare and serve snacks, crafts, painting, Community Garden and outings on PD Day. We do not offer a March Break Program.

THE MORNING PROGRAM Kids Club operates each school day morning from 7:30AM - 8:30AM. When you bring your child to the program held at Beaver Valley Community School 189 Bruce St. S each morning it is imperative that you escort your child into the Kids Club Room and directly check in with Carol (staff). The morning program is a lightly structured program with a focus on quiet activities and assisting to start your child’s day in a happy way. We enjoy outside time beginning at 8:10. The children are welcome to join Breakfast Club at 8:30AM or join other children in the supervised playground.

Please be sure to call the correct phone numbers for changes:


Children can be registered in advance. There is an option to remove your child from the list if within the timeline posted and all absences must be reported before the start of the program to Kids Club 519-599-2033. We are no longer accepting telephone registerations or drop ins.


Any changes that impact your child being on or off the BUS must be called into the office at Beaver Valley Community School 519-599-5991 and if the bus change impacts your child's attendance at Kids Club, you must report the absence to Kids Club before the program commences at 519-599-2033. Kids Club is run out of Beaver Valley Community School but is a separate program and therefore you need to connect with both the BVCS office and Kids Club.

Please complete the typed word document for your child's Emergency Card. This needs to be updated with any change to age, grade etc.


Please update each section of your child/children's registration pages ongoing as the information changes. Example: your child's age, parent contact numbers, grade, teacher etc.

Please speak with Carol directly regarding any allergies, concerns etc. before the program each day.

BVO's Summer Fun Day Camp 2017

BVO Summer Fun Day Camp 2017!  Our Calendar outlines lots of fun activities, games, crafts, and weekly day trips. Runs July and August (closed August 7th, 2017).  Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Trips are an extra cost and the fee will cover busing and admission.  Signed consent form will be required.  There will be a couple of days that we will be at the park, so please take note of those days.  We will be providing the opportunity to do some woodworking, sewing and baking during the summer.  There will be some lunch days at a minimal cost.  

Children are allowed to bring their bikes each day.  They must have a proper helmet.  There will be opportunity to go on a bike ride each day.  The bikes can be left in the arena during the week.  

Each day your child needs to bring:

  • Lunch and snacks
  • Water in a refillable bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Bathing suit and towel (there may be water activities/games not shown on the calendar)
  • Hat
